Privacy policy

SnowBiller is software that snow removal, landscaping and other field service companies use to record work, review it and bill for it. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. Questions go to support@snowbiller.com.
Two kinds of information
Company data is what a company and its people put into SnowBiller: customers, sites, contracts, prices, work entries, photos, videos and comments. The company decides what goes in and who can see it, and we handle it on the company's behalf to run the service for them.
Account and business information is what we need to run SnowBiller itself: who has an account, which companies subscribe, and how the service is used.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number and job title, and how you sign in (email and password through Microsoft, or Google, Apple or Facebook if you choose them). We never see your password.
- Location when work is logged: when someone logs a visit in the field app, the phone's position at that moment is saved with the entry, and the app uses the position to list the nearest sites. SnowBiller does not track phones in the background or between visits.
- Photos and videos taken in the app, with the time and place they were taken.
- Payment details for subscriptions are collected and stored by Stripe. We receive the plan and whether payments went through, never the card number.
- Technical information: the device and browser type used to send an entry, IP addresses, and logs of errors and requests that keep the service secure and working.
- Demo requests: what you type into the contact form.
How we use it
- To provide SnowBiller: sign-in, storing and showing your company's records, making PDFs and reports, and sending the emails the service needs (invitations, comment notices, payment problems).
- To bill subscriptions, give support and answer demo requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how features are used so we can improve them.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use company data for advertising.
Who sees it
- People in your company, according to the roles your company sets up.
- SnowBiller support staff, only when needed to help your company. Support access is recorded in your company's audit log.
- Service providers that run parts of SnowBiller for us: Microsoft Azure (hosting, storage, sign-in, maps and email delivery) and Stripe (subscription payments). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Company data is kept while the company uses SnowBiller. When an owner deletes the company in Settings, its records, photos and videos are deleted; backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule after that. People removed from a company keep their own account until they ask us to delete it, and their past work stays in the company's records under their name.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections and is encrypted where it's stored. Access inside a company follows its roles and permissions, and important changes are written to an audit log.
Your choices
- Change your name, phone number and email notifications on your profile.
- Ask your company's owner to correct or remove company records about you, or contact us and we'll pass the request on.
- Ask us for a copy of your account information or to delete your account by writing to support@snowbiller.com.
Children
SnowBiller is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell company owners by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
